Welcome to the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics at the University of Cologne. The Center brings together junior and senior political scientists at the University of Cologne, who work on comparative research related to political institutions and comparative political economy. André Kaiser is Professor for Comparative Politics and Christine Trampusch is Professor for International Comparative Political Economy and Economic Sociology. Her professorship is also the Liaison Chair (Brückenprofessur) to the Max Planck Institute for the Study of the Society (MPIfG).

Project funding granted

We are pleased to announce that the project “International Security in the Post-Conflict Context: A Comparative Analysis of Western Balkan States” has been awarded funding from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye

Thesis Supervisions at the Chair for Comparative Politics

Important: Prof. Dr. André Kaiser and his team are only available for MA and BA thesis supervisions until 2026. The thesis will only be supervised if the final thesis is submitted until the first week of December 2026. Later submissions and extensions are not possible.
